Overview Phones measured 20 hexes across two cities. The network uploaded 1,182 scans from two phones. The day saw 36 earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 or higher. Snow covered 16,218,929 km² and sea ice covered 13,657,726 km². Haze was thick over Indonesia and Bangladesh while bright lights shone over Greenland, the United States and Japan.
Where the phones measured Erfurt, Germany contributed 664 uploads and measured 7 hexes. Antwerp, Belgium contributed 518 uploads and measured 13 hexes. Together the phones touched magnetic, BLE, pressure and cellular layers in 23 hexes each and Wi‑Fi in 19 hexes. The two phones scanned 20 hexes total, none of them new.
Sky and planet Snow cover was largest in Antarctica (267,612 km²) and Greenland (254,419 km²). Sea ice was largest off Canada (228,277 km²) and Antarctica (228,207 km²). Haze over Indonesia reached an optical depth of 4.14, making the Sun look dim. The brightest night lights were 8.3 nW/(cm² sr) over Greenland, a city level brightness. Aurora chance is 17 % over Antarctica, a small chance. Space weather is quiet with Kp 2. Earthquakes peaked at magnitude 5.3 near Yōkaichiba, Japan. There are 52 wildfires, including one in San Francisco, Texas, and nine severe storms such as Hurricane Rachel.
Tomorrow, from the history Tomorrow scan uploads are forecast about 914, between 594 and 1234, based on the last 7 days of history. Hexes measured are forecast about 23, between 15 and 32, also from history. Earthquakes of magnitude 2.5+ are forecast about 43, between 28 and 57, from historical trends. All these numbers come from the history, not from a new measurement.
