My badges

Every badge that exists, whether you hold it or not. A badge is a claim that was true when it was awarded and stays true afterwards, so nothing here can be taken away by somebody else doing more. Badges carry no credits and convert to nothing: they are a record, not a currency.

This is the full set with its real thresholds. To see your own progress, open My Node and sign in with your recovery key.
Explorer
Measure distinct hexagons. Each is about 174 metres across, so this rewards moving rather than sitting still.
bronze at 50 silver at 250 gold at 1,000

Deep Reading
Leave more sensors running in one place. Most hexagons reach five or six; nine is the ceiling.
bronze at 7 silver at 8 gold at 9

Steady
Measure on consecutive days. A place measured once is a guess; measured daily it is a record of change.

Every Sensor
Contribute all 8 sensing layers at least once. Sound level and night light are the hard ones: both need a reading taken on purpose.

Pioneer
Be the first phone ever to measure a named place. It cannot be taken from you afterwards, and it cannot be shared.

Badges are awarded automatically from measurements the network already holds. Rarity is the point: a badge that everybody has says nothing. Nothing here is a ranking, so nobody loses a badge because another node passed them.
