Overview The phones measured 13 hexes, including three never before measured. They uploaded 797 scans from four phones. The network was quiet overall. Satellite data showed extensive snow and sea ice. Haze was thick over Indonesia and Antarctica.
Where the phones measured Four phones contributed data from Erfurt, Antwerp, Flint and Cluj‑Napoca. They measured GNSS, BLE, magnetic, pressure, cellular and Wi‑Fi signals in 13 hexes. Three of those hexes were measured for the first time ever. A total of 797 scan uploads were recorded. The network activity was down 53% compared to the weekly average.
Sky and planet Snow covered 17,049,331 km², most in Greenland, Antarctica and Canada. Sea ice covered 16,851,758 km², largest off Antarctica, Russia and Greenland. Haze with optical depth up to 4.57 dimmed the Sun off Indonesia, and thick haze over Antarctica reached 5.00. The brightest night lights, about 9.8 nW/(cm² sr), were seen off Antarctica, New Zealand and over the open ocean. Aurora chance is 26 % over Antarctica, a fair chance. Space weather is quiet with Kp 2.7, and 47 earthquakes of magnitude 2.5+ were recorded, including a strongest M5.6 near Kokopo, Papua New Guinea.
Tomorrow, from the history Tomorrow scan uploads are forecast about 1,186, between 771 and 1,602, showing an increase from today’s 797 according to the history. Hexes measured are forecast about 38, between 25 and 51, also higher than today’s 13. New hexes are forecast about 14, between 9 and 18, up from today’s 3. Earthquakes of magnitude 2.5+ are forecast about 45, between 29 and 61, a slight drop from today’s 47. These numbers come from the history of previous days, not from a measurement.
